Solvent Blue 36 is dark blue powder. Insoluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, oleic acid and stearic acid, soluble in organic solvents such as xylene, chlorobenzene and trichloromethane. Same chemical structure as C. I. Disperse Blue 134.
Solvent Blue 36 is mainly used for coloring of polystyrene, polycarbonate, ABS resin, plexiglass and rigid polyvinyl chloride. Also used for dope dyeing of polyester.
